Ginger Clinician Hub

Ginger's first electronic behavioral health record system that provides psychiatrists seamless access to patient records and care collaboration tools.

I designed the Tasks Home experience which focused on helping psychiatrists become more efficient in their workflows (compared with their existing EHR system, Dr. Chrono). Clicking on any task on the left column on the Tasks page will display that specific member’s profile and highlight on a specific tab the task or event took place.

Designs from the Tasks Home experience

Ginger's clinicians were looking for an easier way to scan a member’s information and wanted urgent notes and activities to be highlighted in a way that would bring their immediate attention.

I designed the MVP of the Members tab which provided a seamless way for clinicians to search information including historical activity about any of their assigned members.

At Ginger, care teams consisted of multiple team members including a coach, therapist, psychiatrist, and customer support representative, who all needed a safe, secure, tailored, and easy way to share specific information about a member with one another.

I explored a scheduling and settings feature that allows clinicians to schedule sessions directly from this web app (as opposed to their 3rd party platform, Dr. Chrono). These features were slated later on the roadmap.

I create a moderation guide and developed interview questions to gather insights about our proposed experience. We interviewed 4 psychiatrists and 1 therapist.

High-Level Insights

(1) Clinicians loved the concept of a tasks list because it helps them focus in on a single member’s action items.
(2) Some clinicians felt it was cumbersome having to schedule appointments in Dr. Chrono, but then also needing to manage them in Google Calendar.
(3) Clinicians liked the cleanliness, simplicity, and ease of finding member information.
(4) Some clinicians wanted an easier way to exchange notes with others on a member’s care team. A lot of information was being exchanged via email.
(5) Clinicians loved seeing PHQ-9 scores in a new way that allows them to dive deeper into the member’s progress.
